This lift rises about four stories from a lakeside patio to the cottage, enabling three generations of this family to enjoy summer vacation time together. The previous owners had built an asphalt path for a golf cart but the runoff was fierce and every trip was dangerous.
The upper station will be redone when the cottage is renovated so we build this temporary gate.
The machinery is hidden and protected by the housing.
We normally do not build station gates but in this case we built simple upper and lower stations that will work until landscape renovations are completed and more elaborate platforms are constructed.
We built the track longer than required in case they replace the patio with one that is closer to the ground.
The optional winter cover that sheds snow and keeps the car clean and sheltered. It even has a removable flap that fits inside the sliding gate and protects the interior of the car. The lightweight aluminum frame allows one person to put it on and take it off. The cover is held tight to the car with a single cord that anchors through a gap between the floorboards and cinches down with a single pull.
