Our Story
A physicist set out to solve a hill.
Inclined Elevation was founded more than 20 years ago by John Weinstein, a PhD in physics who applied his mathematical and engineering acumen to the underserved market of personal incline transport. More than 160 lifts later, Inclined Elevation is the #1 provider of hillside elevation in Canada’s cottage country.
That brain work is enshrined in all the lifts we design and manufacture. They feature advanced technology such as three-phase motors, VFDs, and PLC controllers that ensure smooth, reliable rides. We are the only builders of two-pitch and three-pitch lifts for complicated terrain. Nothing is standard issue. Each project is tailored to our clients’ unique needs and landscape.

This interactive map is a small miracle. Click and you can zoom in to see exactly where the 163 lifts we've built to date are located. Each one is a red star. Many are clustered in the Muskoka area. Others are in eastern Ontario and Quebec. Early in the spring of 2026, we built our first lift in British Columbia (not shown on the map).
