The long-time owners of this cottage were finding that hauling luggage and groceries from the car to the cottage was becoming too difficult. This simple 1-Person-plus-cargo lift solved the problem.

This PLC-controlled lift had to be precision-set to save two trees and narrowly pass the corner of a porch at the lower end. We mounted the motor at the top because the lift hugs the ground most of the way.

This lift runs from a parking area to the cottage with most of the track very close to the ground. The two-door car enters from the left side at the top and exits from right side at the bottom. We used wire mesh and embedded wooden “steps” under the track to minimize erosion and stabilize the slope. The lift seamlessly integrates into the landscaping and provides a great view of a terraced garden. 

Designed to carry cargo and/or one person, this lift runs from a parking area to a cottage porch, a vertical rise of about 35 feet.
